On this day in 2009... A great trade for the Reds

Before this day in 2009, the Cincinnati Reds were playing average baseball. They were mediocre at best. Then Walt Jocketty pulled the strings on a trade that turned the Reds in the right direction for the next few years. He traded 3rd Baseman Edwin Encarnacion to the Toronto Blue Jays for future Hall of Fame 3rd Baseman Scott Rolen. When Rolen arrived, the Reds were a different ball club. They finished the 2009 season winning 29 of their last 40 games Won the division in 2010 and were swept by the 2 time defending Champion Phillies. Had the best record in baseball in 2012 and lost to the Giants in the NLDS I miss watching Scotty Rolen at 3rd base. He was a joy to watch.
