I think I found a new favorite golf ball
I think I found a new favorite golf ball. Joe Wiseman likes to refer Top Flite's as "Rock Flite". I've played the Nike 20x1, Titleist Velocity, DT Solo, Callaway Big Bertha Diablo, Hex Diablo. But my new favorites are Taylor Made Rocketballz and Super Deep.
I like how they feel coming off the club. When Rocketballz came out two years ago, I fell in love with them.
2014 HASK Golf Scramble was a huge success
The 2014 HASK Golf Scramble concluded on Sunday. It was a great success. Joe Wiseman, Jon Ranly, Gordon and Rhonda Buchlor, Jeanie Bosslet and myself put together a awesome success.
We raised $10,000 for the Soup Kitchen. When I saw how much was raised, it turned a good day to a great day.

On this day in 2009... A great trade for the Reds
Before this day in 2009, the Cincinnati Reds were playing average baseball. They were mediocre at best. Then Walt Jocketty pulled the strings on a trade that turned the Reds in the right direction for the next few years.
He traded 3rd Baseman Edwin Encarnacion to the Toronto Blue Jays for future Hall of Fame 3rd Baseman Scott Rolen.
When Rolen arrived, the Reds were a different ball club. They finished the 2009 season winning 29 of their last 40 games
Won the division in 2010 and were swept by the 2 time defending Champion Phillies.
Had the best record in baseball in 2012 and lost to the Giants in the NLDS
I miss watching Scotty Rolen at 3rd base. He was a joy to watch.

This is why I love sports
By now, everyone knows about Isaiah Austin's condition. What a courageous young guy. I feel for the kid that he can't play basketball anymore, but after watching Adam Silver draft him in the league like that, its one of the many reasons why I love sports.

I love to play golf
I have been playing golf now on a consistent basis for about six years now. While watching the 2008 Masters, I saw how much fun the guys were having on the course. They did not complain about hitting a bad shot or having a bad round. It made me want to get out more.
Six years ago at this time, I did not have many golf shirts. If I was going to play golf on a consistent basis, I wanted to be comfortable in my own skin.
Thank goodness for Moisture Management technology. I love wearing clima lite, clima cool, dri fit, Izod golf, Greg Norman. I love wear these kind of golf shirts.
I love being on the golf course. I don't usually play the greatest, but it beats a night at home watching TV and its better then not doing anything.

At this time a little over five years ago
The 2008-09 Cavaliers were awesome.
The 2008-09 Lehman boys basketball team was awesome. Zac Schmitz, Nathan Horstmen, Brian Adams, Max Cartwright and Dan Westerheide, who attended Holy Angels in Jr. High, went undefeated during the Holy Angels days and Corbin Peltier were seniors. Bruce Vanover was in his 2nd year as head coach and this team was poised to make it to regionals. I remember being at the Anna regional semi final in 2008 and saw Schmitz and Adam Freytag, who was a sophomore at that time at the game and told them, “You guys are going to be good enough to be playing at this time next year”. The season got off to an awesome start, they went undefeated through their first 9 games, before playing Jackson Center, who beat them by 6. They won the Piqua Holiday tournament thanks to the heroics of Dan Westerheide. Lehman finished the regular season at 18-2, losing to Jackson Center and Ft. Loramie. Went undefeated at the Schlater Gymnasium for the first time in the gyms then 12 year history. They squared off against Triad in their first tournament game and won by 7 in a game that was closer then anyone thought. Then raced past Tournament tough Botkins and held off Mechanisburg in the sectional final. Late in that game, Zac Schmitz sprained his ankle. Injuries are always apart of sports, Keith Bogans (2003 Kentucky vs Wisconsin), Carson Palmer (2005 Bengals vs Steelers), Kenyon Martin ( 2000 Cincinnati vs Memphis). If Bogans and Palmer do not get hurt in their respective games, Kentucky wins the 2003 National Championship and the Bengals make it to Super Bowl XL.
Lehman squared off against Cincinnati summit Country Day. The Cavaliers lost 53-50, ending their season at 21-3. For a basketball program that had only won 3 tournament games from 1989-2004, to making it to the District Finals in 2005, 2007 and 2009 is an awesome accomplishment. Lehman has had some pretty decent basketball teams during the 1989-2004 time frame, but could not get over the hump: 1995 (14-7), 1999 (10-11), 2003 (10-11), 2006 (11-10) all were one and dones. In 1995, Lehman lost to eventual Regional runner up Russia and in 2006 lost to eventual regional runner up Houston in the first tournament game.
