Michigan vs Ohio State football

Last night, May 1, 2019, I watched Michigan football classic on the B1G Network. It was the Michigan Ohio State game from 2003, one of the last great moments for Michigan in the storied rivalry. Sometimes I wonder when Michigan's next victory against the Buckeyes will come. I am a Michigan fan!. 3-17 is frustrating in every sense of the word. I feel bad for all the Michigan football players who have NEVER beat the Buckeyes. I cheered for the Buckeyes from 2005-10 and it didn't feel right to me. I will say this, Ohio State had no business losing to Rich Rod when he was Michigan's coach, I am a bit surprised that two of the games, both that were in Columbus were scoreless after the first quarter. I remember Jeff O'Korn's press conference after the 2017 game, that was 3-16 in a nutshell. I felt bad. When the Buckeyes blocked the punt in the 2nd half and returned it for a touchdown this past year, that was the Maize and Blue's misery in a nut shell. One of these years, Drew Henson is going to be replaced as the last Michigan QB to win in the shoe. Urban Meyer was a awesome coach, hope retirement from coaching treats him well and I respect him for not running up the score and going for 70 last year. Michigan HAS TO win this game again at some point, it needs to be a more competitive rivalry, not one sided. I went to Lehman Catholic High School and Edison Community College. Their school colors were blue and yellow. My oldest niece is a Ohio State grad and I respect that! I cheered for Ohio State from 2005-10 when they played in Michigan in football and it did not feel natural to me. I did not like who I was doing it. I am willing to bet, if you were to ask any one of the Michigan football players who played for Michigan in the last 7 years. Regardless if they were in the NFL, married with a wife and kids or working for a fortune 500 company, I am willing to bet, they would give any of those things to have one victory against Ohio State. I was not a Michigan fan when they lost to App State in 2007, why am I today, it feels right. Blue and yellow looks better than scarlet and gray. Hail to the victors sounds better than Hang on sloopy.

Congrats Coach Meyer

Tonight marked the end for a Coaching legend. Urban Meyer. For him to go 7-0 against The Ohio State's archrival is pretty darn good. It's just unfortunate that I am a Michigan fan. I cheered for the Buckeyes from 2005-10 and I did not like who I was doing it. Its funny, I am a Michigan fan and don't know the names of their football team, but know the Buckeyes players names. I would like to see Michigan get more dominant in football. I don't think Harbaugh is going anywhere, despite being 0-4 and 1-3 in big games. Ohio State can't win every year. No Rose Bowls since 2007, No Big Ten titles since 2004. C'mon Maize and Blue, take notice, don't you want to be dominant again.

The end for Marvin and the city of Oakland

Christmas Eve will mark the end for Oakland Raider football in Oakland. To me, its a shame that the community of Oakland can't get it together and build a new Stadium and keep the Raiders in Oakland. In two years, they are playing in Las Vegas. I know one thing for sure, I would not play anymore football games in that "dump". Having been there in 2000 for a A's baseball game I was too impressed with the Stadium. I have a great feeling that Sunday night will be Marvin Lewis's swan song as Bengals head coach. If he stays on, I fully support the Bengals decision.

It's a Sports Life

We have Spectrum Cable at home and I watch the NFL network's A Football Life documentaries and the back ground music in these documentaries is very strong. I watched The Sandlot last night and there is a quote in that movie, for For others, Baseball is a game, forBenjamin Franklin Rodrigiuez, baseball is life. For my inner circle, sports is just a game, for me, sports is a passion, obsession. I live, breathe and sleep sports. I hope to share my passion and love for sports with others.

I'm a Bengals lifer... DEAL WITH IT.

There is a saying, you are not remembered for what you do in the regular season, you are remembered for what you do in the postseason. The Cincinnati Bengals, my favorite NFL team, has not played in a major significant football game since January 13, 1991, the AFC Divisional Round I was in the 3rd grade that year. That was the game that Bo Jackson hurt his hip. Yes, the Bengals went 11-5 in 2005 and 2015, but what happened in the playoffs those years... 2005: Carson Palmer goes down on the second play of a 31-17 defeat 2015: After a interception, rookie Jeremi Hill fumbles the ball and moments later, Pacman Jones and Vontaz Burfict make knuckleheads of themselves and cost the bengals the game. It's frustrating to be a fan. I WANT THE CINCINNATI BENGALS to win a Super Bowl in my lifetime. Yes, there is a 1/32 chance of that happening. They have not done anything great as a franchise for 27 years. How frustrating do you think it is for the maize and blue to be 2-14 against the Buckeyes, how frustrating do you think it was for the Golden State Warriors to go 73-9 and not win a championship. I want the Bengals to win the Super Bowl as bad as LeBron wanted to win a Championship for Cleveland.

The HASK Golf Scramble

This Sunday will be the 6th Annual HASK Golf Scramble. During the first five years, we have raised over $55,000 for the Soup Kitchen. My best friend and I started this tournament in 2012 and I think its safe to say we made a good choice six years ago. This has been the easiest one to prepare for. We have a great committee and we are ready to get the ball rolling.

On this day in Reds History...

On this day in Reds History in 2006, the Reds were tied for the Division lead with the Cardinals. They were played the 2nd of a four game series against the Giants in San Francisco. I remember watching that game and everytime the Reds had a chance to score a run, they could not hit a ball out of the infield. The Reds lost that game and went 2-8 on that West Coast Roadtrip. Every time i see the clip of Adam Wainwright striking out Brandon Inge to win the World Series, I always imagine myself saying, "that could have been the Reds".
