On this day in 1996, A Sad Day for the University of Dayton and Dayton Flyer Basketball

On this day in 1996, The University of Dayton and the Dayton Flyer Men's Basketball program endured a painful loss. Senior Forward, Chris Daniels, died of Cardiac Arrhythmia in his sleep. At the time of his passing, Chris was in the top five in field goal percentage. I had the opportunity to be at one his last games at UD Arena just a few weeks before. It was a sad day for the University of Dayton and for the Flyer basketball program. I remember when I arrived at Holy Angels School that morning, Jamie Westerheide, informed me of the news. The Atlantic 10 Conference Most Improved Player Award is named in his honor.
