The Birth of a Legend at Lambeau Field. 20 years ago today
It was week 3 of the 1992 NFL Season. The Cincinnati Bengals traveled to Green Bay to take on the Packers. The Packers were not as well known as they are today, while the Bengals were coming in at 2-0 under new head coach Dave Shula. In the 2nd quarter, quarterback Don Majkowski got sacked by the Bengals defense and got injured pretty bad. Then came an unknown Quarterback from Southern Mississippi, Brett Favre. Favre, like a lot of other NFL players, would do great things at the expense of the Bengals Franchise, Joe Montana, Terrell Owens, to name a few. Favre threw a 38 yard touchdown to Kendrick Taylor with 12 seconds left and the legend of Brett Favre was born. Also on this day in 1998, Favre and the Packers would defeat the Bengals 13-6 at Cinergy Field. Favre would go 5-1 against the Bengals in his career.
