On this Date in Dayton Basketball History

Dayton has beaten some big names on this date in recent years.

In 1999, the undefeated Flyers traveled to Cincinnati to take on the #12 Ranked Kentucky Wildcats at US Bank Arena. The Flyers shocked the state of Ohio that night beating the Wildcats 68-66, thanks to 23 points from Tony Stanley. This occured during my senior year at Lehman Catholic High School and it was my Classes Favorite Moment, because they got to give me a hard time about it for the remainder of the year.

In 2005, the Flyers made another trip to the Queen City, this time to take on the Cincinnati Bearcats at the Shoemaker Center. The Flyers stunned the Bearcats 73-65 thanks to the play of Monty Scott (23 points) Brian Roberts (25 Points) and James Cripe (12 points)

On this night in 2008, the Flyers played the Marquette Golden Eagles in the Final of the Chicago Challenge and upended the Golden Eagles 95-84 behind a career high 21 from Rob Lowery, 13 from Chris Wright and 19 from Chris Johnson
