On this night in 1997, Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls took on Karl Malone and the Utah Jazz in Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals. It was one of MJ's best games of his career. Jordan was striken with the flu and had a couragous performance. He scored 38 points, hitting the go ahead 3 pointer with 30 seconds to go leading the Bulls to a 90-88 win en route to their five NBA Championship.
