On this date in NBA Playoff History

On June 11, 1997, Michael Jordan played the greatest game of his NBA career. He endured the stomach flu and helped lead the Bulls to a 88-86 win against the Utah Jazz in Game 5 of the Finals, scoring 38 points.

Two years later on the same date, the New York Knicks had the opportunity to become the first ever #8 seed to reach the NBA Finals. They would have to do it without the services of Patrick Ewing and Larry Johnson. Led by Allan Houston, Marcus Camby, Latrell Sprewell and Charlie Ward, the Knicks held off the Pacers 92-86 at Madison Square Garden and became the first #8 seed to make the NBA Finals. The Knicks would lose to the San Antonio Spurs in 5 Games
