On this day in NBA Playoff History

The New York Knicks were hosting the Indiana Pacers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Knicks were playing without Patrick Ewing, who was suffering from a partially torn Achilles. The Pacers led 91-88 with 11 seconds left, but forward Larry Johnson would etch his name into NBA playoff lore, he buried a 3 pointer with 5 seconds left and was fouled, he made the subsequent Free Throw to give the Knicks the lead and the Victory and the Knicks would go on to win the Series in six games becoming the first #8 seed to make the NBA Finals.
